Digital Practice Toolkit

Learning to play drums can be complicated, and we drummers are constantly juggling lots of different tools: sheet music, MP3s, YouTube videos, and various apps for slowing down songs or editing notation. All this switching between programs wastes time and kills your focus. But what if you could have a single tool that combines everything a drummer needs?

Introducing the Beats Drum Studio Digital Practice Toolkit (DPT).

How It Works

The DPT is based on the Soundslice player, a hybrid audio player/notation viewer that syncs audio, video and music notation into a single, elegant interface. No more juggling, no more wasting time, just an effective, efficient and fun learning experience that lets you;

  • View music notation synced with multiple recordings.

  • Click on any note to instantly jump to that spot in the audio or video.

  • Slow down or speed up any part of a song to hear every detail. When you’ve nailed the part, bump the tempo back up and rock out in real time.

  • Loop difficult sections No more pausing and rewinding when you mess up that fill. Simply grab the section of the song and loop it over, and over, and over until you’ve got it down.

  • Add or remove a metronome to help you count tricky beats, and create count-ins (even in odd-time signatures).

  • Zoom and re-wrap notation to fit any screen size.

  • Download PDF files of your charts to take with you to gigs or rehearsals.

  • Access it from any device without having to install anything. Your phone during practice time, your laptop when you’re behind the kit, and your tablet at the gig, wherever the music takes you!

Try it out for yourself

You can get a taste for it right now by clicking the play button below for a demo track of "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson, taken from the Trinity Rock & Pop Grade 1 Drums syllabus.

It’s a great way to take the DPT for a test drive.
